Jordan Gholson
Jordan Gholson is entering her junior season at Division III Roanoke College. She averaged 9.6 points and 5.0 rebounds as a freshman; she also led the ODAC in blocked shots (tied a school record) with 45 on the year. Prior to attending Roanoke, Jordan earned first-team All-Jefferson District honors as a junior and senior at Louisa County High School. She was a second-team all-Region II pick as a senior.

Emileigh Lambert

A long-time member of the Lightning, Emileigh currently suits up for the Division III Bridgewater College Eagles. She was a member of the 2007-08 ODAC Tournament Championship team at BC as a freshman. Prior to her college career, Emileigh starred at Albemarle High School where she was a first-team All-Commonwealth District (Group AAA) selection as a senior. She led AHS in rebounds, steals, and assists during her senior year

Caitlin Boles
Caitlin joins the Bridgewater Eagles this season as a freshman after playing previously for Western Albemarle and the Lightning. She was a member of the WAHS Jefferson District Champions in 2007-08 and served as team captain as a senior.
In The News
- The U12 team coached by Kerri Taylor won a pair of recent tournaments. The team took home the U12 titles at the Roanoke Outlaws event in Roanoke and the VBC Hoopfest tournament in the valley. The team also posted two wins in the Charlottesville Lightning "Lightning Strikes" tournament, defeating the VBC Eagles 41-40 and the Botetourt Outlaws 28-20.

- Several current Charlottesville Lightning members earned postseason honors for their play in the high school ranks in 2009-2010. Earning first-team All-Jefferson District honors was Western Albemarle's Ellen Shaffrey. Earning second-team All-Jefferson District honors were Western Albemarle's Carolyn Schneller and Kelsey Swanson  as well as former Lightning players Ellie von Storch (Charlottesville) and Carla Brooks (Monticello). Congrats girls!

- Former Charlottesville Lightning guard Kelly Schorling is playing Division III soccer at Kenyon College. Schorling earned an honorable mention slot on the All-North Coast Athletic Conference team in 2008. Congrats Kelly! Former Charlottesville Lightning guard Mary Schwartz is playing Division I lacrosse at George Mason University. Check out this Daily Progress feature on Mary! Former Lightning standout Molly Schwoebel has joined the women's rowing team at UVa. Jordan Gholson, a former Lightning player that suits up for Roanoke College, set a new ODAC Tournament record with 14 blocks last season.
